BIO

Dr. Aleksandr Miklos (B.A., Biochemistry, Kenyon College, 2001 & Ph.D., Biochemistry, Duke University 2008) is a biochemist with 14+ years of research experience on defense-oriented projects.  Dr. Miklos currently supports the U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) as a contractor, providing subject matter expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and biologically-inspired sensing.  Dr. Miklos previously worked as postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin Applied Research Laboratories where he established and managed a gene synthesis core facility which he used to enable interdisciplinary academic projects involving translational engineering, computational protein design/engineering and synthetic/systems biology.  His ‘applied generalist’ experience is routinely leveraged to bring useful things out of the laboratory and into the hands of the warfighter and to effectively integrate teams working on laboratory testing, data analysis, and hardware development elements of research efforts.
